Sasaki to Miyano - Volume 1

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I was not expecting to review a BL manga but here we are. I’ve been just collecting mostly shonen so far. This manga came across my feed multiple times and decided to give it a go. I did read most of it online before I committed to buy the volumes.

The premise it’s a bit meta. A boy (in a boy’s school) who likes to read BL manga but doesn’t want his life to become a BL manga. Yet he finds himself starting a friendly (for now?) relationship with an upperclassman. There’s no physical intimacy or anything like that (doesn’t seem this kind of of manga anyway), so it’s very safe to read if you’re worried about that.

The first volume is a presentation of characters, the setting, and the start of the main story. How the two boys become friends and start interacting with each other. Everything is pure and friendly. There’s no ill intent or drama (so far, please keep it that way).

I think you could change this romantic comedy to a boy/girl and it would work the same. The relationship is just sweet and overall wholesome. The comedy bits from Miyano imagining his classmates in BL settings are super funny.

My only complain about the volume is that is a little bit thin, compared to 3rd and 4th while it had the same price.
