Choji is such a coward, except when he’s been called fat 😂 Thank you for helping us, I guess? Cool to see their team work so well together, unlike our main characters, Team 7. Attacking their teammate was ruthless. We don’t know yet why they are after Sasuke. Neji shows up. I’m with the guy from the Sound Village, seems like Neji is all talk so far. We haven’t seen him throw a single punch. Oh boy, that two-page panel of Sasuke with the tattoo/mark. Awesome!
Chapter 56

Sasuke is pissed! Is he as fast as Kakashi now? Hiding the shuriken inside the fireball is the most ninja thing to do, nice! I like how he broke his arms, showing evilness right there. Although if you think about it, they were going to kill him. So him breaking their arms seems like a cheap price to pay.
Chapter 57

Sakura’s opinion of Lee has changed, good. He put his life at risk for her, you better acknowledge him, girl. We finally see the black ops team, Anbu, look looking! Love the masks and the short swords. I can’t help but chuckle at their video technology! They use fire, sticks, and ninja stars but have the technology to record video and play it back 😁
Chapter 58

I like the mystery around Gaara, we need to see him get into action. He also has been all words until now. Akamaru is cute, feels bad we’re making the dog work for Kiba. Just fight on your own like the rest of the class? The needle rain was very cool looking. The panel with the sand protects Gaara and all the needles sticking out. Nicely done!
Chapter 59

Wow, our first death in the series that we’ve witnessed? No mercy. He even used their umbrella to shield from the blood rain (I guess he could have used the sand?) It’s funny how the enemies now wanted to hand over the scroll. When they see they’re about to die, try to escape. Too late. I wonder if they would have forgiven Gaara’s team if the roles were reversed. Very tense moment right there between Kankuro and Gaara.
Chapter 60

Naruto, you’re better than this. Tying to cheat your way out might seem like the ninja way, but it contradicts also the “ninja way” of carrying the message without opening. Too bad we don’t see what really happened to those who opened the scroll. An illusion? They were spitting blood through the mouth. I like Sasuke’s approach, if he has scrolls even if he’s friendly… we fight it out. Three against one.
Chapter 61

Too bad! I did want to see Kabuto in action. Not much happened, lots of running in circles, and now we get ready for a fight. Even the mighty Kabuto fell for it? Maybe he’s not so good after all.
Chapter 62

This fight feels like it was designed for Naruto, clones vs clones. Interesting that not even the sharingan can tell the technique? I wonder if Kakashi could have seen through it. Probably yes. Nice twist there at the end, I did not see that coming. Well done.
Chapter 63

Twisting the twist, we thought it was game over. It wasn’t. What was that look? Kabuto looked absolutely menacing with just a glance. We can almost confirm he’s faking being so bad. And of course, a few pages later we learn he’s working for Orochimaru.
Volume 7
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Very decent volume. Good amount of fighting, and we’ve got insights into many characters from the village and some of the mysterious ones like Gaara and Kabuto.
Things start to get complicated. Why would Orochimary infect Sasuke with that? What’s the plan behind it? Will the author expand on this soon or are we continuing the exam as if nothing happened?
How will the instructors handle Orochimaru? Will there be a fight to expel him from the village now? Or will he slip away the same way he entered?
