This has been taken out of the Dragon Ball 101 book! The weights on the legs that are so heavy they break the ground as they fall. Kakashi is saying what we all think, thinking Gai overdoes it at every turn.
Gaara not even moving and letting the sand block all the attacks looks so cool. Now, his transformation upon feeling the pain, of somebody hitting him. It’s a first for him, and it’s scary.
How can you not feel empathy for Lee? He has had the odds against him from day one, yet he perseveres. He has a strong will, just like Naruto if not stronger. Lee’s awakening of that power is spectacular, the drawing feels a bit like Dragon Ball (can’t deny your inspiration, Kishimoto-sensei!).
Gai stopping the fight is very touching too. Lee is hanging by a thread, the difference in power was too great. Gaara’s defense is superb. I wonder who’ll be the first to truly break it.
The medics after 10 seconds of examination telling Gai “he will no longer be able to live the ninja life” is nonsense. How could you give such a diagnostic in just a few seconds 😂
Kakashi giving kudos to Kabuto says a lot. The copy ninja acknowledging an opponent’s strengths tells us he’s strong. We need Kakashi to step up his game. We haven’t seen him improve much since the Zabuta fight a few volumes back.
A good moment to end the 10th volume with Jiraiya making an entrance. Time to level up!
