Oh my, the nostalgia!
I have never read Dragon Ball but I have watched the anime several times from start to finish on TV! I remember watching this at home, I remember how they did re-runs of the show several times. I think it was the first anime I’ve ever watched, it shaped me in so many ways. Forever grateful.
The first volume is fantastic. The story moves quickly (surely it must move forward if this volume has 14 chapters in it. Still, didn’t feel boring for a second), we’re introduced to many characters and the drawing is cute.
For a manga that’s almost 40 years old, I think it holds very well. Although the art, in this first part of the series can be off-putting for those only used to more modern stuff.
