Chapter 8

⭐️⭐️⭐️

Rin can be a bit of an ass to his brother. Maybe Yukio can have more tact while delivering his messages but Rin acts like a little kid. Breaking his glasses there at the end? Not cool, man. For a small black cat, it is quite powerful when grown. Awesome little backstory on how the Father was THE Paladin back in those days. We were not made aware he was that powerful. Rin using his head, for once, quite literally. I did not see that coming. The grenade was alcohol 😹

Chapter 9

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A date! Rin you youngster. Just confess your feelings already. Although if I’m being honest I ship way more Yukio and Shiemi. The pervert ghost was funny, feeling up Shiemi 😂 Amaimon finally gets into action. He looks, at first sight, very strong. Although he gets overpowered when Rin loses his mind. I wonder if Amaimon held back? I suppose so, he’s been doing this for longer. He must have other tricks up his sleeve. How did Rin know he could shoot blue blames to a distance? We will never know… Call it instinct! The reveal! Where did she hide her chest when undercover, we will never know…

Chapter 10

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

She owns the show now! She’s bossing everybody around pulling her rank. Interesting to see Yukio being overruled like this. Mephisto is up to no good. He claims he’s here to bring peace between the two worlds but he’s fishy. Why bring his brother Amaimon here then? To push Rin to grow and become stronger? I don’t see what’s the endgame here. The senior knight is a little bit bipolar. On one side it feels as if she almost regrets ever crossing paths with Father Fujimoto, and yet she says he was super strong. She ends up caving, though, and acknowledges Rin’s resolve. It would’ve been a very bold move from the author to kill Rin here. So I wasn’t really into panic mode.

Chapter 11

⭐️⭐️⭐️

Rin has been demoted from steel sword to wooden sword. Good, everybody should start this way not with a sharp edge. Sword fighting is what I’m here for, I need more! The camping exercise is wrong and I feel this will change in the next volume. The original intention is to pin them against each other. Saying there are only 3 lights they can get to. However, I feel they will have to teamwork to get there. What’s so bad about that? We’ve been told these exorcists need to work in pairs or bigger groups to fight demons. The best volume cliffhanger, though. His classmate sees the blue flames, even if not directly. Especially him who has been traumatized by the “blue night”. Wondering if Rin will find a way out of this or if the cat is out of the bag now.

Volume 3

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This volume was very easy and fast to read. Good!

The story is moving at a great pace! There were some awesome panels, especially during the amusement park chapter. Rin, with the flames, nicely done. I wanted to see more, though 😁 I guess we’re at the arc where the main character needs to start training with his teacher/master to become stronger.
